From the Wild, for the Wild at Heart

You want products made transparently with local, organic, nontoxic ingredients, but not everyone has the hours to research recipes to make at home only for it to end up in an expensive mess. Finding products that meet that criteria for your body, kiddos, and home has meant hours of searching multiple sources only to be unsatisfied. Sometimes you buy products only to find out they don’t work, or worse — they aren’t as clean as you thought!

Wanderflower Body Co. products are all handcrafted by me, Caiti – an Alaskan, wife, mom, wildflower enthusiast, and adventurer who was forced to make major lifestyle changes and replace everyday products due to health challenges including mold toxicity, immune issues, a brain injury, and Lyme disease. I graduated from UAA and have been a registered nurse since 2012. Researching and overthinking every purchase is a bit of a hobby of mine (and an annoying one if you ask my husband). Over the last 10 years of trial and error, I’ve done the countless hours of researching every single ingredient, calculating fatty acid and nutrient profiles, and testing every formula so you don’t have to.

The Wanderflower Difference

Local & Wild

We prioritize local sourcing and wild harvesting. All of our suet comes from a family-run cattle farm in Delta Junction, Alaska and is meticulously hand processed and rendered into tallow by us for the highest quality. Many of the plants are found in our backyard and responsibly harvested on Dena’ina land.

Organic

For additional ingredients, we use organic whenever possible and always notate every ingredient. No GMO or bioengineering here! We investigate every ingredient to bring you the absolute best.

Natural

We choose not to use any preservatives, including those that may be “safer.” This does mean the products should be used with clean, dry hands, kept in a cool, dry place, and used in a shorter time frame.

Transparent

Words like “fragrance,” “natural flavors,” citric acid, and even vitamin E (or tocopherols) can have varying sources or hidden ingredients. You want to know exactly what you’re getting, so we don’t use vague terms.

Nontoxic

Some other things you won’t find here: petrolatum, mineral oil, talc, hexane-containing seed oils, artificial colors, or emulsifying wax. The carrier oils added to balms (rosehip, almond, coconut, jojoba and more) are always organic and cold-pressed.

Easy Solutions

You know that caring for your body means more than just nontoxic body care products. Check out our WanderClean home products!

Ingredient Spotlight

small clay pot of tallow

Tallow

Tallow is certainly seeing a lot of buzz these days, but it’s been used as a skin moisturizer by various cultures around the world for ages! Slow-rendered in house using only the hard, nutrient-rich fat that surrounds the kidneys (suet), all of our tallow comes from a family-run cattle farm in Delta Junction, Alaska.

Carrier Oils

Our whipped tallow balms feature a signature balanced oil blend. After countless hours of research, pages and pages of calculations for each fatty acid and vitamin level, and numerous formulations, we chose to combine tallow with organic, cold-pressed jojoba, rosehip seed, and sweet almond oils to achieve a smooth, rich texture that’s incredible for your skin. Adding these gives the tallow a boost of nutrients as well as linoleic, linolenic and gadoleic fatty acids.
