Small-Batch Production
Our products are thoughtfully handcrafted in small batches using freshly rendered tallow and carefully selected botanical ingredients. To maintain quality and freshness, we produce limited quantities throughout the year.

Processing & Shipping Times
Please allow 3â5 business days for processing and packing in-stock orders, plus additional shipping time depending on your location and selected shipping method.
- Alaska Orders: Ground shipping typically takes just a few days within Southcentral Alaska, although rural destinations may require additional time.
- Orders Outside Alaska: USPS Priority Mail is our preferred shipping method to help your products arrive as quickly as possible. Ground shipping may be available during cooler months.
Once your order is packed and prepared for shipment, youâll receive an email with tracking information from our shipping provider. Please note that this email may come from a different website or email address and occasionally ends up in your spam or junk folder. If you donât see your tracking information, be sure to check those folders.
Youâll also receive an order completion email from Wanderflower when your package has been shipped.
Warm Weather Shipping & Product Care
Because many of our products contain natural tallow, botanical butters, and oils, they are sensitive to extreme temperatures. Products may soften or melt when exposed to temperatures above approximately 80°F, particularly during prolonged transit or when left in direct sunlight.
We recommend monitoring your tracking information and bringing your package indoors promptly after delivery, especially during warmer months.
If a balm melts during transit, it can generally be cooled and used as intended, although its original whipped texture may change. Melting does not necessarily affect the quality or effectiveness of the product.
Please note: We cannot guarantee that temperature-sensitive products will maintain their original texture during warm-weather shipping. We are unable to accept returns or offer refunds solely for melting or texture changes caused by heat exposure during transit or after delivery.
Shipping Issues
If your package is lost, damaged, or significantly delayed during shipping, please contact us so we can help determine the next steps. USPS may require a shipping claim for eligible lost or damaged packages.
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout and keep an eye on tracking updates to help ensure a smooth delivery.

Caring for Your Products
Due to natural variations in tallow and the handmade nature of our products, color, scent, and texture may vary slightly between batches, even with the same formula.
Our water-free tallow balms do not contain traditional preservatives. Always use clean, dry hands or a small scoop to avoid introducing moisture and bacteria.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration is not required but may help maintain freshness and extend shelf life.
Small oil droplets, graininess, or changes in texture may occur due to temperature fluctuations. These changes are normal and do not necessarily indicate spoilage.
For best quality, use within the timeframe specified on each productâs label.
A little goes a LONG way! Start with a pea-sized amount or less for your hands or face, preferably on slightly damp skin. If your skin feels oily after a few minutes, simply use a little less next time!

What is tallow?
Tallow is rendered animal fat, traditionally made from the suet (hard fat surrounding the kidneys) of cattle or other ruminants. Solid at room temperature, it has been used for centuries in cooking, skincare, and other applications. In skincare, tallow is valued for its rich fatty acid composition and ability to support the skinâs moisture barrier.
Our tallow comes exclusively from Alaska-grown, pasture-raised cattle and is carefully rendered in-house to ensure quality and purity.
Iâve heard tallow is vitamin-rich and identical to our skinâs sebum. Is that true?
While we wish this were true, scientific testing shows that tallow generally contains very little vitamin E or K and often negligible amounts of vitamins A and D. B vitamins are water-soluble and arenât meaningfully present in rendered fat.
Tallow is rich in stearic, palmitic, and oleic acids but naturally low in linoleic and alpha-linolenic (omega-3) acids. Its fatty acid composition also differs significantly from human sebum.
We believe in science-backed skincare and honest, transparent ingredients. This doesnât mean tallow isnât wonderful for your skin, but it does mean that what we add matters! We carefully select botanical oils and infused ingredients to complement tallowâs fatty acid profile and create more balanced, nourishing formulations.
Does it smell like beef?
Letâs be realâtallow comes from an animal! However, our carefully rendered tallow has virtually no beefy smell. When customers have been asked to identify our plain tallow among samples, most are surprised they canât tell which one it is!
Our unscented, botanically infused balms, like Resurrection Balm, may have a naturally sweet, grassy, or earthy scent from the plants themselves.
Why are some infused plants not labeled organic?
Many of our Alaskan botanicals are wild-harvested rather than certified organic. While wild plants may grow without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, they cannot be marketed as organic without meeting applicable certification requirements.
We harvest responsibly, gathering only what we expect to use to help protect local plant populations. Botanicals sourced outside Alaska are organically grown whenever possible and labeled accordingly.
If our wild-harvested supply runs out before the next season, we may source an organic alternative when appropriate or temporarily list the product as out of stock.
